Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing the quality control function to maintain compliance with Part 145
requirements.
- Managing staff to uphold operational standards at the repair station.
- Ensuring inspection personnel meet 14 CFR Part 145 requirements.
- Establishing, modifying, and developing policies and procedures for Quality Control
- Monitoring Airworthiness Directives for compliance and applicability.
- Supervises the QC area ensuring that business quality objectives are being met, i.e. Evaluation turn times, Final inspection, Paperwork Completion all with minimal KPI’s.
- Guides inspection personnel to confirm that all inspections are accurately performed on all completed work prior to return to service of the article.
- Ensure compliance to FAA Part 145, EASA-145, AS9110 requirements & the Quality Management System.
- Ensures that all inspectors are following the requirements specified by the FAA, EASE regulations, SOP’s, and Repair Station / Quality Control Manual.
- Determines that the requested maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration can be accomplished within the applicable data despite any other damage or discrepancies noted.
- Responsible for Receiving inspection, thus all parts will be received per the QCM Procedures and personnel will be monitored to that standard. All parts will be received verifying Self evaluations are completed to CCL, AD’s verified, customer requirements verified, RO’s corrected if needed, installing tags and Opening up WO’s. With philosophy of zero rejects.
- Ensures all incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, in-process, and final inspections are performed in accordance with the procedures set forth in the Repair Station / Quality Control Manual.
- Act as the primary contact for issues that may arise related to day to day, Technical Data, Shelf Life, Calibrated Tooling, and Scrap Parts. Verifying the Quarantine cage is monitored for parts having issues are either scrapped or put into work having followed through with customer corrections or technical data being received.
- Monitoring of KPI’s and the internal push to a zero KPI’s.
- Ensure the availability and currency of the technical information required to perform work whenever a new article is introduced for maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration.
- Assist in maintaining the Repair Station Quality Manuals and Training Program.
- Maintain access to Customer Technical document portals.
- Performing other duties and maintaining other responsibilities as directed or required.
- Be involved in audits and audit preparation.
Education and Experience
- High School graduate, GED or equivalent. (A&P) preferred
- 8 to10 years of part 145 experience involving interior production or MRO experience with the appropriate technical training or equivalent work experience.
Communication Skills
Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Ability to comprehend detailed
instructions (CMM’s, AMM’s, SB’s, EBS’s and ECRA’s) and or aircraft LOPA’s. Ability to
effectively communicate one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of
the organization. Good grammar and spelling skills.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for periods of time, and lift upto 40 pounds
Work Environment
- Exposure to general shop conditions.
- Exposure to airborne particles such as dirt, dust, and fumes.
- Exposure to seasonal weather.
